1. Data controller
The controller of the personal data collected through this website is JUVENT CAMP, S.A. ("HYPE Barcelona"), with tax ID A-08783581 and registered address at C/ Almagro, 15, 4.º, 28010 Madrid. For any questions about this policy, you can write to hypeclubbcn@gmail.com.
2. What data we collect
When you create an account or use Hype Social Club we collect: full name, email, password (stored encrypted), phone number and, optionally, date of birth. Using the site also generates data derived from your activity: check-in and nights history, Points balance and transactions, level, spins and prizes on the Rule de Hype (the wheel), ranking position, redeemed rewards, shop orders, VIP bookings and your communication preferences (whether you accept news, and when and where you changed it). When you check in at the club, and only then, we also collect your phone's location (coordinates and their accuracy margin, if you allow it in your browser), your IP address and a technical identifier of your browser, to check that you are at the venue. If you buy tickets or book through external services (e.g. Fourvenues), that data is handled directly by that provider under its own privacy policy. If you have an account and enter the club with a Fourvenues ticket or guest list spot under the same email, Fourvenues tells us you came in that night and we add it to your account with its Points; emails that don't match an account are not stored. If you activate your Hype Moments profile, we also show your shortened account name (first name and surname initial), your profile photo, bio and Instagram if you add them, your level, your nights at Hype, your ranking position, the parties you've been to (unless you hide them) and your Moments and comments: all of that is public while you keep it (see the Hype Moments terms), and you can delete it whenever you want. The ⚡ you give to Moments are counted, but who gives them is not published.
3. Why we process your data
We use your data to: manage your account and your participation in Hype Social Club (nights, Points, levels, rewards, the Rule de Hype and handing out its prizes at the box office); automatically add your nights when you enter with a Fourvenues ticket under your email; show the public Hype Social Club points and nights rankings (see section 5); manage shop orders and VIP bookings; respond to your enquiries; check that you are at the club when you check in and prevent fraud in the programme (duplicate accounts or check-ins from outside the venue); verify you meet the minimum entry age and the legal age to receive prizes containing alcohol; and send you HYPE Barcelona's own news, events and offers by email, unless you object (see section 6).
4. Legal basis
The legal basis for processing your data is: the performance of the contractual relationship arising from your registration and participation in Hype Social Club, including the Rule de Hype (GDPR art. 6.1.b); our legitimate interest in showing the programme's ranking and in telling you about our own events and offers, similar to the services you already use (GDPR art. 6.1.f and art. 21.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002, LSSI), always with the option to object easily and free of charge when you sign up, from your profile and in every email; our legitimate interest in preventing fraud in Hype Social Club (GDPR art. 6.1.f), which covers checking the location, IP address and browser identifier when you check in (location only with your permission in the browser) and the duplicate-account checks when you sign up; your consent, where we ask for it explicitly (GDPR art. 6.1.a), which you can withdraw at any time; and compliance with legal obligations applicable to nightlife venues, such as verifying the minimum entry age.
5. Public Hype Social Club ranking
On the Ranking page we show the top members by Points earned and by nights. Only your first name and the initial of your first surname are published (for example, "Laura M."), along with your Points earned, your nights and your level; never your email, phone number or date of birth. The HYPE Barcelona team does not appear. You can stop appearing at any time by turning off "Appear in the public ranking" in My profile → My account, or by writing to us; the change applies immediately.
6. News and offers by email
Unless you object, we will email you information about our nights, events, offers and Hype Social Club promotions (never from other companies). When you sign up, the box "I want to receive Hype news…" is ticked and you can untick it; afterwards you can change it at any time in My profile → My account or with the "Unsubscribe" link included in every email, free of charge and without logging in. We may tailor emails to your level, nights, points or language, without this involving automated decisions with legal effects. We keep a record of when and where you accepted or declined emails so we can prove it, and the email provider's technical notices (delivered, bounced or marked as spam) so we stop writing to addresses that don't work or have asked us to stop. We don't use tracking pixels to know whether you open our emails.
7. Minors
HYPE Barcelona is a nightlife venue with a minimum entry age (see the Info page for day-specific details). We do not target our services at minors below the applicable minimum entry age and do not knowingly collect their data. Rule de Hype prizes containing alcohol are only handed out to people aged 18 or over, after checking their ID. If we become aware that an account was created in breach of these requirements, we will cancel it.
8. Retention period
We keep your data for as long as your Hype Social Club account stays active. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we must retain certain data by law (e.g. billing records) or to handle possible liabilities (such as the record of your communication preferences), which will be kept blocked for the periods required by applicable regulations. The location coordinates and IP address of each check-in are deleted after 90 days; the record of the night (date and event) is kept while you have an account.
9. Recipients and data processors
Your data is hosted and processed through the following data processors (GDPR art. 28): Supabase, our database, authentication and file storage provider; Vercel, which hosts the website (its application servers are in London, United Kingdom, a country with a European Commission adequacy decision); Resend, which sends our emails; Stripe, to process card payments in the Hype Shop (we never store your card details on our servers); and OpenAI, only if you use the site's virtual assistant, to which the messages you type in the chat are sent in order to generate a reply. Some of these providers may involve an international transfer of data outside the European Economic Area, carried out with the safeguards provided by the GDPR (adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses). We do not sell or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.
10. Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and data portability at any time by writing to hypeclubbcn@gmail.com. You can do many of them yourself: correct your details, stop receiving emails or stop appearing in the ranking from My profile → My account, and unsubscribe from emails with the link included in each one. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) if you believe your data isn't being processed in accordance with the law.
11. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration, including password encryption, role-based access control and database-level security policies (Row Level Security).
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy to reflect legislative changes or changes to our services. Any relevant changes will be published on this same page along with the last-updated date.
